BALMORAL

PROPOSAL QUESTIONS?

Who can request Balmoral involvement?
ANYONE
Often requests come from entrepreneurs in developing countries who want to establish a new business or extend an existing enterprise. Sometimes they come from banks wishing assistance from their clients and often requests come from vendors who need an intermediary to complete an equipment sale.

How should I start the communication?
FAX US THE FACTS
Simply fax your request concerning trade sales, procurement, financing, leasing, or matchmaking (in English) on 1-2 sheets. Further sheets of financial statements and bank introductions may also be sent on this introductory fax.

What if I am working through a Broker Or a Balmoral Bank Representative?
OK, USE THEM
Balmoral maintains a large group of Distributors, Vendors, Agents, Expansion Consultants and Brokers. First, find if you are using an official BALMORAL BROKER or a local person. Balmoral allows and protects up to two (2) different broker groups on any transaction. All parties must be identified at the beginning of any transaction.

Is my Bank needed in every Balmoral transaction?
NO
Balmoral may decide to process your request without your bank involvement. Cash payment for procurement services and computerized matchmaking placements do not require bank services. It is, however, a good idea to have your bank involved in your request and have a reference letter prepared. Procurement with Bank L.O.C. does move faster. Be prepared to know the amount of down payment you can apply, and if a Bank L.O.C. is possible.

Who can refer people and institutions to Balmoral?
ANYONE
Anyone may refer interested parties to Balmoral. Balmoral principals have received referrals by the employees of the World Bank, Freight Forwarders, Banks, United States Embassies' Commercial Departments, Foreign Financial Institutions, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and scores of governmental and private import and export firms.

Do I need a Business Plan?
NOT NECESSARY
There is no standard application form for Balmoral. However, certain preliminary information is needed to enable Balmoral to determine whether an investment proposal warrants consideration. This information can be in a Business Plan or in your own form, as follows:

  • A brief description of the proposed project or items to be sold or purchased and the technology involved.
  • The estimates total cost and the amount of financing needed, with indication of the proportion to be provided by the sponsors.
  • The amount of money your side has in cash to buy the equipment or to participate in the project.
  • The legal status and financial history of all companies involved and a Bank letter.
  • The market envisioned, potential competition, and export opportunities, or the reason for the technical or medical equipment. Other brokers or intermediates should be given in the original proposal.
  • Give the names of 3 or 4 manufacturers who make this kind of equipment.
