TITLE:

Prospector, Agent, Sales Executive
|
REPORTS TO:

Rodney Kincaid CEO
|
Manage major prospects to identify, qualify, find linkages
between prospects and financing opportunities.
Research, solicit and build business plans and prepare information
for proposals for specific transactions in your area. Develop
funding strategies for companies and civic organizations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
INDIVIDUAL RESEARCH, WRITING, SALES & MANAGEMENT
- Research individual prospects to help determine capacity,
interests, linkages, and the strategy to produce successful
solicitations; modify and update electronic and paper files
to meet research needs and maintain accuracy
- Coordinate Prospect strategy with staff and volunteers to
help cultivate and solicit major donor prospects. Maintain
a Prospect Management System to monitor progress, provide
reports, update staff and volunteers, provide history of contacts,
distribute assignments, and evaluate effectiveness
- Design strategy for major campaigns, and geographic areas
with a high concentration of donors or prospects
PROPOSAL RESEARCH & MANAGEMENT
- Manage Project Tracking System; Input projects and other
related information; Discover donor/project matches
- Provide information to marketing staff and serve as a liaison
between writing and marketing (and program) staff in preparing
proposals
FOUNDATIONS, CORPORATIONS, OTHER
- Research foundations and corporations to identify and qualify
prospects
- Design and assist in strategies to target cause related
marketing with multinational corporations in concert with
major donor fund-raisers
- Coordinate international efforts in raising overseas funding
from foundations
Qualifications:
- Able to bring a self-starting, imaginative, problem solving
approach to the research process
- Capable of analyzing situations and coming up with action
plans in a timely and efficient manner
- Able to utilize electronic research resources and other
reference material
- Organized, detailed-oriented, and work well under pressure
of deadlines
- Able to create and manage various systems used to manage
information and prospective funding sources
- Able to meet and work with people, both volunteers and staff
- Ideally experience in prospect research, with a comprehensive
understanding of philanthropy
